Other large Pacific / related packages (the “anything else”)
These are the other headline Pacific deals often grouped with PNG and Palau:
Vanuatu – Nakamal Agreement: about $500 million over 10 years (security consultation on critical infrastructure, policing priority, development).
Fiji – Ocean of Peace / elevated Vuvale partnership: more than $1 billion over 10 years (security, crime, education, health, infrastructure). Annual ODA to Fiji is in the $120–155 million range.
Tuvalu – Falepili Union: climate/security/mobility treaty plus extra aviation/connectivity support (up to $40 million announced earlier) and annual ODA around $46–61 million.
Solomon Islands: annual ODA around $171 million.
Regional Pacific ODA in the 2026–27 budget: about $2.2 billion out of Australia’s total ODA of $5.2 billion.
$600 million Waqa Moana (2026) – regional drug-trafficking package (see Palau section).
Extra $550 million into AIFFP (2026) for Pacific infrastructure grants.
Pre-COP climate meetings in Fiji and Tuvalu: government has cited more than $20 million for the events; critics have put Chris Bowen’s wider COP-related spend much higher (~$150 million).
Smaller items: $15.6 million Pacific high-performance ____________________________
