Monday 22 September 2025 The Sons of Issachar understood the times because they combined deep agricultural/seasonal awareness (as farmers) with spiritual insight and political astuteness, allowing them to discern God's plan and know the right actions for Israel, particularly supporting David's rise to kingship. They were known for wisdom, not might, aligning their decisions with divine timing and current realities, making them crucial leaders in their era.

Key Reasons for their Discernment:

  • Spiritual Insight: They received a divine anointing to understand God's purposes and seasons, recognizing when to move from Saul's reign to David's.

  • Agricultural Knowledge: As farmers, they were experts in reading natural cycles, seasons, and the land, which translated to a broader understanding of timing and preparation.

  • Political Acumen: They developed a keen political sense, understanding the shifting landscape and making informed, wise choices that benefited Israel.

  • Alignment with God: They aligned their understanding of current events with God's heart, enabling them to know "what Israel should do".
