House seat: more than 50% in that electorate (call it 51%). That wins the seat, including outright on first preferences.

Senate seat: about 14.3% in that state at a normal election (one quota). Not 51%.

Become the government: 76 of 150 House seats. A national 51% would almost certainly do it. You can also do it with a much lower national primary if you win 76 seats after preferences.

Control the Senate: 39 of 76 senators. That is not 14.3% and it is not 51%. At a normal election it is extremely hard. At a double dissolution you need about half the vote in most states.

One line: 51% wins a House seat. 14.3% wins a Senate seat. 76 House seats wins government.
